Abstract
This study examines the challenges and risks faced by Indonesia's younger generation in facing the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly regarding the potential for the demographic bonus to become a demographic burden. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques consisting of literature studies and semi-structured interviews. The results indicate that low digital literacy, a mismatch between skills and industry needs, unequal access to technology, and a lack of AI-based training are the main challenges. These conditions increase the risk of structural unemployment among productive age groups. Based on Walt W. Rostow's modernization theory, strengthening the education system and workforce readiness is necessary. Adaptive strategies such as curriculum reform, vocational training, and cross-sector collaboration are important solutions to optimize the demographic bonus in the digital era.
