Abstract
This article contains a study on oscillations. In the basic physics practicum there are several simplifications of cases that aim to support the understanding of the concepts of physics learning. In the practicum implementation there is a proving process that is carried out through experiments and involves formulations using Newtonian and Lagrangian equations. This can be found in pendulum experiments using the Phyphox application, where there are simplified cases that make it easier to understand the factors that affect the value of the pendulum period. The method used is a real experiment using PhyPhox software, then the data obtained will be analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively manually. Therefore, this study aims to prove the value of the pendulum period based on experimental results and formula calculation data. The period values obtained in our research did not show a significant difference. We argue that a high degree of effectiveness exists in the Phyphox Application experimental medium. This is because the Phyphox application is able to save time and costs and is easy to use to support physics learning. Based on the results of the research and discussion, the following suggestions are put forward, namely that teachers can use sensors on Android smartphones as practicum tools. There is still a lot of practicum material that can be done by utilizing an Android smartphone such as motion material, waves, magnets, electricity, and so on.
