This study discusses the development and innovation of community-based curriculum as an effort to enhance the relevance of education to social needs. The curriculum is not only viewed as a learning framework but also as an instrument that must align with the learners’ social environment. The community-based approach emphasizes the involvement of various stakeholders, including schools, parents, and community leaders, in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum. The findings indicate that a community-based curriculum can create more contextual learning, improve students’ skills, and strengthen character development. However, its implementation still faces challenges such as limited resources, teachers’ readiness, and weak stakeholder collaboration. Therefore, strengthening strategies are needed through teacher capacity building, sustainable collaboration, and adaptive policy support.
