Peer Review Process
Mitra Teras: Jurnal Terapan Pengabdian Masyarakat applies a blind peer review process. Every manuscript submission will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers, followed by editorial comments. The Editor-in-Chief or the relevant editor (according to the field of research, as listed on the Editorial Board page) will make the final acceptance or rejection decision.
Manuscript Pre-check
Upon submission, the editorial team will perform an initial check to assess the manuscript's suitability for the journal, including its alignment with the journal’s scope and formatting requirements. The qualifications and background of the authors are also reviewed at this stage, and manuscripts that do not meet basic standards or are obviously subpar will be rejected.
Blind Peer Review
The review process is single-blind, meaning that the author does not know the identity of the reviewer, but the reviewer is aware of the author's identity. To assist academic editors, Mitra Teras staff manage all communication with authors, reviewers, and external editors. Editors are able to monitor the status of manuscripts and the identity of reviewers throughout the review process. Reviewers are given two weeks to complete their review. For revised manuscripts, reviewers are asked to provide their feedback within one week. Extensions can be granted upon request.
Editor Decision
Once the peer review process is completed, the editor (listed on the Editorial Board page) will make the final decision based on the reviewers' comments. The decision can be one of the following:
-
Accept the manuscript
-
Request revisions
-
Reject the manuscript
-
Ask for an additional reviewer
If there is suspicion of plagiarism, the editorial office will use Turnitin software to conduct a plagiarism check.
