Ethic Statement

Mitra Teras: Jurnal Terapan Pengabdian Masyarakat upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and adheres to the best practices outlined in the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. The journal is committed to ensuring the integrity of the scholarly record and the transparency of the publication process. Our ethical principles are based on COPE's Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors, Duties of Reviewers, and Duties of Authors.

Publication Decisions

The editor is responsible for making the final decision on which articles submitted to Mitra Teras: Jurnal Terapan Pengabdian Masyarakat should be published. The editor’s decision will be based on the quality, relevance, and originality of the manuscript, as well as its alignment with the journal’s scope and focus.

The editor may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and must adhere to legal requirements, including those related to libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. In making publication decisions, the editor may consult with other editors or reviewers for advice and guidance.

Fair Play

The editor will evaluate all manuscripts based solely on their intellectual content and merit, without any bias towards the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors. The editor is committed to ensuring a fair and unbiased review process for all submitted articles.

Confidentiality

The editor and any editorial staff involved in the review and publication process must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, when necessary. All communication regarding the manuscript will be handled confidentially.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in the editor's own research without the explicit written consent of the author. The editor must also disclose any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts arise.

Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of the journal’s content. They are tasked with:

  • Making decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of articles based on their originality, significance, and relevance to the field.

  • Ensuring that all manuscripts undergo a fair and unbiased peer review process.

  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and the identities of authors and reviewers.

  • Addressing any conflicts of interest and ensuring the transparency of the editorial process.

Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of the journal. Their responsibilities include:

  • Providing a thorough and timely review of the manuscript.

  • Offering constructive and unbiased feedback that helps improve the manuscript.

  • Disclosing any potential conflicts of interest and recusing themselves from reviewing a manuscript if necessary.

  • Maintaining confidentiality about the content of the manuscript and not using the information for personal gain.

Duties of Authors

Authors are expected to adhere to the highest standards of research ethics. Their responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that the research is original and has not been published elsewhere.

  • Providing accurate and transparent data and results.

  • Properly citing all sources of information and avoiding plagiarism.

  • Acknowledging all contributors to the research and ensuring that all individuals who have made significant contributions to the work are listed as authors.

  • Responding to reviewers’ comments and making necessary revisions in a timely manner.
