Abstract

This community service program aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of communication in the dissemination of foreign trade policies conducted by the Surakarta City Department of Trade and to formulate recommendations for improving communication strategies based on business actors’ feedback. The program involved 29 export-oriented business representatives from various industrial sectors. The evaluation employed a qualitative approach using content analysis of written feedback forms collected at the end of the dissemination program. A total of 16 out of 29 participants (55.2%) provided written feedback, which was classified into five main categories: service quality and responsiveness (4 responses), media and information systems (3 responses), frequency of dissemination activities (3 responses), clarity of information (1 response), and overall appreciation of the program (5 responses). The findings indicate that the communication strategy has provided valuable benefits for business actors; however, improvements are still required in terms of service responsiveness, the provision of more interactive digital communication media, regular dissemination activities, and the delivery of information in a clearer and more concise manner. The primary output of this community service program is a set of communication strategy recommendations that can be utilized by the Surakarta City Department of Trade to enhance the quality of future foreign trade policy dissemination. The results are expected to support the development of more effective, adaptive, and stakeholder-oriented public communication in foreign trade services.
